Free MP4 to MP3 Converter

An MP4 to MP3 converter extracts the soundtrack from a video and saves it as an MP3 audio file. This free video to MP3 converter decodes the audio, lets you trim the start and end, encodes a standard MP3 at 128, 192, or 320 kbps, and downloads it, all inside your browser with no upload.

Speed and supported inputs depend on your browser and device. MP4 with AAC audio works almost everywhere, while MOV, MKV, and some codecs only decode in certain browsers. Videos can be up to 500 MB and 30 minutes so the audio fits in memory. Files never leave your browser.

MP4 to MP3 converter FAQ

How do I convert MP4 to MP3 for free?

Add your MP4, trim the start and end if needed, choose a bitrate, and select Convert to MP3. When the preview sounds right, select Download MP3. There is no signup, watermark, or upload.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The audio is decoded and encoded into MP3 in your browser on your own device. AICurate never receives, stores, or sees your video or the MP3.

Which bitrate should I choose?

128 kbps is plenty for interviews, webinars, and podcasts. 192 kbps is a good default for mixed content. 320 kbps keeps the most detail for music but makes the largest file.

Why does my video fail to convert?

The video may have no audio track, use an audio codec your browser cannot decode, be damaged, or be longer than 30 minutes or larger than 500 MB. Try an MP4 with AAC audio or a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.

Can I extract audio from MOV or WebM videos too?

Yes, when your browser can decode them. WebM works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, and MOV works in Safari and usually in Chrome. Supported inputs and conversion speed depend on your browser and device.
